Size 7 needles
Worsted weigh cotton
Beginning of Heart: CO 5 stitches. With a separate ball
of yarn CO 5 more stitches on the same needle - 10 stitches total.
Row 1: (RS) *[ K1, M1] two times, K1; rep from * on second
set of sts - 14 sts on needle.
Row 2 and all even rows: Purl
Row 3: *K1, M1, knit to last st, M1, k1; rep from * on
the second set of stitches - 18 sts on needle.
Rows 5 - 11: Repeat row 3. 17 sts each set . 34 sts total.
Row 13: (Joining row) K1, M1, K 15 sts, K2 tog, K 15,
M1, K1 - 35 sts total.
Row 15: Knit
Row 16: Purl
Row 17 - 20: Rep. Rows 15 and 16. Ending with a purl
row.
Row 21: K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts , K2tog, K1
Row 22: Purl
Continue repeating rows 21 and 22 until you have 5 stitches
remaining. You will be reducing the stitch count by two on each odd numbered row.
Next row: K1, sl 1, K2tog, psso, k1 - 3 stitches
Final Row - Sl 1, K2tog, psso - 1 stitch - weave in yarn
I found that it was easier to count the stitches after
every row so that the sides of the heart are even. |
